A number of people have asked me from time to time how to update AmiBroker.  Some asked for help from AmiBroker and while help was readily given it didn't solve the problem.

The official website gives some instructions (in ‘faq’) on how to install an update for AmiBroker. These instructions don’t make a whole lot of sense to me, maybe since I am not a computer programmer. It says not to overwrite a registered or 'personalized' version but that seems to imply that you can’t update it. I have a vague idea of what it might mean but most people seem to have even less understanding of these instructions than I have. The ‘Introduction to AmiBroker’ book advertised on the official site does not mention the subject of program updates.

If you are one of those who have limited computer skills but would still like to use this absolutely fabulous charting software then these instructions may help. It is the method I have worked out for myself and it seems to work quite well for me.

Download the PDF file and unless you have plenty of screen acreage or a good memory then I would suggest you might like to print it so you can refer to it as you go.
